US President Trump says war with Iran is ‘pretty much complete’, claims Iran has little military capability left

U.S. President Donald Trump has said that the ongoing war with Iran could be nearing its end, claiming the country’s military capabilities have been largely destroyed.

Speaking in a phone interview with CBS News, Trump said the conflict is “very complete, pretty much,” indicating that the U.S. believes it has significantly weakened Iran’s military strength.

“I think the war is very complete, pretty much. They have no navy, no communications, they’ve got no Air Force,” Trump said during the interview.

The remarks come amid the escalating 2026 Iran war, which began after a series of U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iranian military and nuclear infrastructure, triggering retaliatory missile and drone attacks across the region.

Trump added that the U.S. campaign is progressing faster than initially anticipated. According to the president, the military timeline has moved well ahead of expectations.

“The U.S. is very far ahead of the initial four-to-five week estimated time frame,” he said.

The conflict has already led to extensive damage to Iran’s military infrastructure and leadership structure following major airstrikes and regional retaliatory attacks. Analysts say the war has also severely disrupted energy markets and shipping routes across the Gulf region.

Despite Trump’s comments suggesting the conflict could soon conclude, U.S. officials have indicated that military operations remain ongoing. The war has resulted in casualties on multiple sides and heightened geopolitical tensions across the Middle East.

Earlier reports indicated that the U.S. and its allies carried out extensive strikes on Iranian military facilities and leadership targets as part of a major campaign aimed at degrading Iran’s military capabilities.

The situation remains fluid, with global leaders urging restraint amid fears that the conflict could broaden further across the region.
