Instagram is facing a widespread glitch that is stopping new Stories from appearing in the app’s top feed bar causing confusion and frustration among users.
The issue began surfacing a few hours ago with many users reporting that their Stories are not showing up in the usual carousel at the top of the home screen.
As a result engagement has dropped significantly. Users say their view counts have stalled almost instantly with some reporting just a handful of views even after several hours.
Complaints have quickly spread across platforms like Reddit and X where users are sharing similar experiences and trying to identify the cause.
The problem appears to be on the server side suggesting it is linked to Meta rather than individual accounts or devices.
So far Instagram has not issued an official statement addressing the glitch.
However given the volume of reports users believe the platform is likely aware and working on a fix.
Until the issue is resolved users are being advised to hold off on posting important Stories as they may not reach their audience through the normal feed.
