Actually, large scale demonstrations are taking place in Bangladesh against the murder of Usman Hadi. During this time minorities are being targeted. Addressing the protest, Sharif Omar said, “The demand for justice for Usman Hadi has now become the demand of 18 crore people of Bangladesh. Seeing the condition of the government, it is clear that it is not interested in providing justice.” He said, “We have taken to the streets and will not go back home until justice is done. We may have to announce more stringent programs. Before the situation in the country worsens further, we want to make it clear that we should not be forced to siege the Jamuna.”
Earlier, Sharif Omar had alleged that the government had got Hadi murdered to cancel the upcoming Bangladesh elections. He had warned that if the people in power could not provide justice to his family then he should leave power and run away. He said, “You (Yunus government) killed Usman Hadi and now want to cancel the elections by showing him. If Hadi does not get justice, you (Yunus) will also have to flee this country.
