Who are the best players in La Liga right now?
We are already over a third of the way through the new season in Spain and the 2024/25 campaign has already served up some outstanding individual performances. We’re going to take a look at the best players in LaLiga right now.
L15 (Last 15 match average) scores according to Sorare’s advanced scoring matrix are used to rank the players. These take into account decisive actions such as goals, assists, last man tackles and clean sheets (for keepers), as well as a whole range of smaller actions such as blocks, clearances, duels won, successful passes, shots on target and chances missed.
To feature in our rankings, players must have appeared in at least eight of their last 15 available fixtures which includes LaLiga, as well as most internationals and all European club matches.

Best players in LaLiga 2024/25 – The top 10 ranked by their Sorare scores
10. Luka Modric, Real Madrid – 60.6
Real Madrid’s Luka Modric has been one of the most influential players in LaLiga over the past decade and even at the age of 39, he’s still putting in some high quality performances. While a couple of big displays for Croatia have helped him into the top 10, Modric has still pulled the strings in midfield for Los Blancos at times this term, even though he’s by no means a regular these days.
His best display was a classy showing against Villarreal in October, which featured three key passes and one assist in a 2-0 victory.
9. Jude Bellingham, Real Madrid – 60.7
Carlo Ancelotti has been forced to reshape his midfield this term and in truth that is having a detrimental impact on Jude Bellingham, certainly in terms of his goal threat. The Englishman registered 23 goals for his club last season in all competitions, but it took him until his most recent Real Madrid match against Osasuna in November to break his duck this term.
Bellingham is still influencing matches, but the restructuring of this Real Madrid side without Toni Kroos and with Kylian Mbappe is still a work in progress, and he’s having to operate from deeper positions.
8. Nayef Aguerd, Real Sociedad – 61.3
There are only two players from outside of Barcelona and Real Madrid to feature in our rundown of the 10 best players in LaLiga right now. The first is Real Sociedad defender Nayef Aguerd who has made a positive impression since moving to the Basque Country on loan from West Ham.
The Moroccan has featured nine times so far in LaLiga and has helped La Real fill the void left by Robin Le Normand who joined Atletico Madrid in the summer. He’s a different kind of player though and he’s averaging 66.2 passes per game, the sixth most of any player in the division.
7. Dani Carvajal, Real Madrid – 61.4
Sadly we won’t be seeing any more of Dani Carvajal this season after the right-back became the latest Real Madrid player to tear his ACL in the recent victory over Villarreal.
Carvajal had enjoyed a fantastic year, winning LaLiga, the Champions League and Euro 2024, but he now faces something of an uncertain future. The Spain international will be nearly 34 by the time he regains fitness and with Real Madrid being strongly linked with Trent Alexander-Arnold, he may no longer be a regular by the time of his return.
6. Robert Lewandowski, Barcelona – 61.9
Leading the Pichichi race currently is Robert Lewandowski with 14 goals in LaLiga 2024/25, six more than his nearest rival. The arrival of Hansi Flick in Barcelona has been hugely beneficial for the Polish striker who is shining back under the guidance of his old Bayern boss.
With 19 in all competitions already, Lewandowski looks certainly to be on course for his best goal return in Barcelona colours to date, following two seasons that might be viewed as slightly below par, by his own exceptionally high standards.
5. Ayoze Perez, Villarreal – 62.3
Perhaps the signing of the season in LaLiga, Ayoze Perez has had a very positive impact on a revitalised Villarreal side that is flying high under Marcelino.
Despite a couple of injuries, the former Betis forward has made a flying start with seven goals in LaLiga, coming at a rate of one every 74 minutes. He has scored the winning goal in 2-1 victories on four occasions, including 94th and 95th minute strikes against Mallorca and Sevilla respectively.
4. Vinicius Junior, Real Madrid – 63.3
While he missed out to Rodri in the 2024 Ballon d’Or race, Vinicius Junior has had an exceptional year and despite his team’s struggles, he has produced some fine performances already this term.
With eight goals and four assists in LaLiga, Vinicius is currently outshining Kylian Mbappe. He has netted hat-tricks in two of his last four matches for Los Blancos and was the inspiration for a much needed comeback win against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League.
3. Iñigo MartinezBarcelona – 65.5
Iñigo Martinez would have seemed an unlikely top three candidate at the beginning of the campaign, but the Barcelona defender has excelled in partnership with youngster Pau Cubarsi at the heart of the Catalan team’s defence.
While injuries to the likes of Ronald Araujo and Andreas Christensen have helped serve up this opportunity, it’s one that Martinez has taken with open arms and he was incredibly unlucky not to have been called up to the recent Spain squad.
2. Lamine YamalBarcelona – 68.7
It has been a whirlwind rise for Lamine Yamal who was only 16 at the start of Euro 2024, a championship which he lit up with some brilliant individual moments for a victorious Spain side.
So far in the 2024/25 campaign, the young winger has only gone from strength to strength. He is showing more composure in front of goal, already equalling last season’s LaLiga goal return of five. The teenager has also chipped in with 13 assists in 26 appearances for club and country since the start of the Euros.
1. Raphinha, Barcelona – 73.0
On the opposite flank to Lamine Yamal, Raphinha is also tearing things up for Barcelona right now. The Brazilian was linked with a move away in the summer as the Catalan giants pursued Nico Williams, but as it turns out, the former Leeds man has been the perfect fit for Flick’s higher energy approach.
Raphinha is in the form of his life right now, with seven goals and six assists in his last eight Barca appearances.

Real Madrid’s Kylian Mbappe and Eduardo Camavinga, as well as Barca youngsters Pau Cubarsi and Marc Casado make the top 20.
There’s also greater representation from across the league, with Celta’s evergreen forward Iago Aspas still performing at a very high level for Claudio Giraldez’s side. Iñaki Williams and Antoine Griezmann are two other very familiar names to fans of LaLiga, with the latter likely to climb into the top 10 if Atleti can find their groove in the final third.
Antonio Raillo is also having another very solid campaign in defence for Mallorca, while Miguel Gutierrez is still impressing as an attack-minded full-back for Girona, even if there is less quality around him this term.
Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi also sneaks into the top 20, with the midfielder taking on more responsibility for club and country this season.
