UP Government Employees DA Hike: A big good news has emerged for lakhs of government employees and pensioners of Uttar Pradesh. In fact, the UP government led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced a 2 percent increase in the Dearness Allowance of employees. After this decision of the government, dearness allowance of state employees will increase from 58 percent to 60 percent. Its direct impact will be seen in the salary and pension received in June.

This decision of the state government will provide financial benefits to about 16 lakh employees, teachers and pensioners. The DA increased by the government is considered to provide relief to the income of employees amid the increasing pressure of inflation.

Employees will get 60% dearness allowance

Uttar Pradesh Government Has announced a 2 percent increase in dearness allowance of state employees and pensioners. After the implementation of this new decision, now the dearness allowance of employees will increase from 58 percent to 60 percent. Yogi government has taken this big decision after the central government increased the dearness allowance of the employees. It is noteworthy that recently the Center had announced increase in dearness allowance of its employees.

When will the employees get the benefits?

According to the state government, the benefit of increased dearness allowance will be given to the employees along with the salary of May 2026. Since the salary for the month of May comes into the accounts of the employees in the beginning of June, it will be directly benefited in the salary received in June. Due to increase in dearness allowance employees and pensioners Salary and pension will be higher than before.

The increase will be applicable from January 1, 2026

The UP government has clearly said that this increase in dearness allowance will be considered effective from January 1, 2026. This means that the employees will not only get the benefit of the future salary but also the arrears of the previous months. The arrears of four months from January 2026 to April 2026 will be deposited in the General Provident Fund (GPF) account of the employees. At the same time, from May 2026, cash payment of 60 percent DA will be directly added to the salary.
