Uttarakhand News: Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami has given a new direction of development to the tourist city Nainital. Due to his foresight and commitment towards public welfare, he is working rapidly in every area of the state. In this sequence, he performed Bhoomi Pujan, inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of many important projects in Nainital, which will ensure permanent solution to many problems of the city. The Chief Minister performed the Bhoomi Pujan of car parking for 600 vehicles in the enemy property located in Metropole, which will solve the problem of parking in Nainital in future.
Tourism and infrastructure development in Nainital
CM Dhami said that beautification of Metropole area and construction of elevated road will also be done. Nainital is an important city for tourism and a large number of tourists come from all over the country and the world. Now tourists will benefit from the construction of parking and other facilities. Apart from this, the Chief Minister also laid the foundation stone and inaugurated other development schemes at a cost of Rs 131 crore.
Winter Carnival and Forest District Forest Festival
CM Dhami also participated in the ongoing Winter Carnival in Nainital. He said that as per the instructions of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, One District One Festival programs are being organized in the entire state. Winter Carnival is among the priorities of the government to promote winter tourism. Its aim is to strengthen the tourism business and benefit local businessmen for 12 months.

In Nainital, the Chief Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 13 development works at a total cost of Rs 121.52 crore. This includes the bhoomi pujan of the much awaited Metropole surface parking (Rs 42.77 crore) and other schemes like lake recharging, aeration plant, construction of shops, toilet block, lift and transit building, revival of library building etc.

- Construction of pre-stress motor bridge on Doonikhal-Ratighat Padli motor road in Betalghat area (Rs. 9.63 crore)
- Nainital Automated Multilevel Parking in Tallital (Rs 34.03 crore)
- Ramnagar multi-storey parking on old tehsil land (Rs 38.57 crore)
- Construction and repair work of schools, Anganwadi centres, roads and CHCs in various assembly constituencies.
