Is there any problem with the Prasadam of Uttarakhand temples? After the Tirupati Laddu Prasadam controversy, the government ordered an inquiry

Dehradun : The effect of the famous Laddu Prasadam controversy of Tirupati Balaji temple has started to be felt across the country. After the controversy related to Prasad, now the Pushkar Dhami government of Uttarakhand has also become alert. Due to the location of many famous and big temples in the state and keeping in mind the faith of the devotees, the state government has ordered the testing of prasad samples to ensure the purity of the prasad of all the big temples here.

The government has ordered testing of prasad samples in many major and big temples including Chardham. It is worth mentioning that there are many big and world famous temples in the state including Chardham, where lakhs of devotees from the country and abroad come for darshan every year.

Tirupati Prasad accused of containing animal fat

Recently, news of the use of animal fat in the Prasad of the world famous Tirupati Balaji temple of Andhra Pradesh had surfaced, after which there was an uproar in the whole country. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu had claimed that during the previous government led by Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, animal fat was used in making laddus for Tirupati. Amidst these allegations, a woman from Telangana has also made a new allegation regarding Tirupati Laddu Prasadam and claimed that she found pieces of tobacco inside the laddu. The woman has also released a video regarding these allegations.

Efforts of Dhami government to avoid controversy

Due to these incidents, the faith of devotees across the country has been hurt a lot. Governments of many states have become alert after these incidents and are getting the Prasad of famous temples tested. Regarding this, the state's Tourism and Culture Minister Satpal Maharaj said that instructions have been given to do sampling of Prasad in major temples of the state like Kedarnath, Badrinath etc. He said that the government wants to ensure that the Prasad of the temples is religiously pure so that the faith of the devotees is not hurt.

He further said that special teams will be formed for sampling of Prasad from all major temples which will collect samples of Prasad from the temples. Apart from this, the Prasad manufacturing process will also be monitored to ensure its transparency and purity. The minister said that they are doing this so that no controversy like Tirupati temple arises in future.
