Dehradun : The Uttarakhand government has issued new guidelines to stop people from spitting on food items. Along with this, if anyone is found spitting on food items, then he will have to pay a fine of up to Rs 1 lakh.

According to the Chief Minister's Office, following the instructions of the Chief Minister, an SOP has been issued in this regard. On spitting and mixing dirt in food items in Uttarakhand, the CMO said in a post on Will not be done.

According to the new guidelines, strict action will be taken against those who spit or mix other impurities in food items, in which there is also a provision to impose a fine ranging from Rs 25,000 to Rs 1 lakh.

Earlier this week, CM Dhami had assured action against land jihad, love jihad and spit jihad. While talking to journalists, CM Dhami said that the original form of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand should remain intact. We will take action against land jihad, love jihad and spit jihad. Spit Jihad is not acceptable and tolerable in Uttarakhand.

Amid allegations of spitting in food items by some miscreants from several places in the country, the Yogi government of UP has called an important meeting to ensure strict action on alleged incidents of spitting in food or serving food laced with spit. If a government release is to be believed, the Yogi government is planning to bring 'Prevention of Disloyal and Anti-Goodwill Activities and Prohibition of Spitting Ordinance 2024' and 'UP Prevention of Food Contamination (Consumer's Right to Know) Ordinance 2024'.
