In Uttarakhand, the BJP government has already been the target of the opposition regarding the Ankita Bhandari murder case. RJD also wrote in its post that this statement given by the husband of a minister in Uttarakhand government reflects derogatory thinking towards the women of Bihar and is a reflection of the entire ideology, not just of one person.

Amidst the growing controversy, Girdhari Lal Sahu released a video and gave clarification. He said that his statement is being distorted. According to Sahu, he was narrating an incident related to his friend’s marriage and his words were misinterpreted. He also alleged that Congress was deliberately politicizing his statement so as to damage the image of his wife and cabinet minister Rekha Arya.
