Delhi Tourists Assault Locals: A case of alleged hooliganism by tourists coming from Delhi has come to light in Tehri Garhwal district of Uttarakhand. It is alleged that during the trip, six tourists, under the influence of alcohol, clashed with the local people and assaulted them.

The video of the incident is becoming increasingly viral on social media, in which tourists are seen attacking local people with punches, slaps and kicks. After the video surfaced, there is anger among the people and demand for strict action against the accused is being raised.

Ruckus among drunken tourists from Delhi in Uttarakhand

In the viral video, several people, including a woman and a shirtless youth, are seen assaulting locals in the parking area. In the video, a young man is seen trying to pick up a big stone and throw it towards a local person.

Not only this, even after a person falls on the ground, he is continued to be attacked with kicks and punches. On receiving information about the incident, Uttarakhand Police reached the spot and first sent the injured to the nearest hospital for treatment. After this, a search was started for the accused tourists, who fled from the spot after the incident.

Tourists assaulted locals, police arrested

Tehri Garhwal Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shweta Choubey said that the police took immediate action and took all the six accused into custody. Action has been taken against him under Section 81 of the Uttarakhand Police Act on charges of creating disturbance while intoxicated in a public place and disturbing peace.

Police say that strict action will continue against those who disturb law and order or disturb public peace. Also, an appeal has been made to the people to immediately inform the police about any untoward incident or law and order related incident, so that effective action can be taken in time.
