Vaibhav Suryavanshi created a stir in Ranchi… scored 190 runs on 84 balls in Vijay Hazare’s match.
Ranchi. Indian cricket’s young sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi presented an amazing display of his skills and scored 190 runs in 84 balls, which included 15 sixes, in the Vijay Hazare Plate group match against Arunachal Pradesh while playing for Bihar here on Wednesday.
This 14-year-old opening batsman left no stone unturned to demolish the weak bowling attack of Arunachal Pradesh. Suryavanshi completed his century in only 36 balls. In this way, he has become second among the Indian batsmen who have scored the fastest century in List A cricket. The Indian record is in the name of Anmolpreet Singh of Punjab, who scored a century in 35 balls against the same team in 2024. Apart from 15 sixes, Suryavanshi also hit 16 fours in his innings.
He achieved this feat just three days after the defeat in the final of the Under-19 Asia Cup against Pakistan in UAE. The world record for the fastest century in this format is held in the name of Australia’s Jake Fraser McGurk (29 balls).
He made this record against Tasmania while playing for South Australia in the 2023-24 season. The record for the fastest century in One Day International cricket is in the name of South Africa’s AB de Villiers (31 balls). He achieved this feat against West Indies in Johannesburg. Suryavanshi now holds the record for being the youngest player to score a List A century.
