Shreyas Iyer has been appointed as the new captain of the Indian T20 team, while Tilak Verma has been made his deputy. Apart from this, 15 year old Indian star batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi has also been given a place in the team.

BCCI has announced Team India for the Asian Games 2026 along with the tour of Ireland and England. The board has removed Suryakumar Yadav from the captaincy and appointed Shreyas Iyer as the new captain in his place. Whereas Tilak Verma has been given the responsibility of vice-captain. Apart from this, Suryakumar Yadav has been removed from the T20 team. The board has not given him a place in the Indian team for the upcoming tournament.

Vaibhav got entry in Team India

Vaibhav Suryavanshi was successful in making a place in the T20 team for Ireland, England and Asian Games 2026. Impressed by his explosive performance in IPL 2026, the board has included him in the Indian T20 team. Apart from this, fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has been rested during the tour of Ireland and England. Prince Yadav has been included in the team in his place.
