New Delhi. After Vaibhav Suryavanshi, the youngest player of the Indian cricket team, became a part of Team India, Rajasthan Royals has shared an interview of him on social media. In this Vaibhav said that I not only have to play well, but also have to dominate for the next 10-20 years.

Vaibhav said that my dream is to play in all three formats of cricket. In an interview with Rajasthan Royals team manager Romi Bhinder, he also mentioned the final of IPL 2026 and said that when Virat Kohli placed his hand on my shoulder, it felt like a dream. 15 year old Vaibhav Suryavanshi has become the youngest player ever selected in the Indian cricket team. He has been selected for the Asian Games squad to be held in September along with the T20 series against Ireland and England in June-July.

In a video shared by Rajasthan Royals, Romi Bhinder asked Vaibhav Suryavanshi how he sees the journey of IPL 2026? On this Vaibhav said that the IPL tournament lasts for two to two and a half months. In this one has to remain mentally and physically strong. After every match, we used to sit in the team and discuss what was missing. What mistake was made and how not to repeat it again. This was very beneficial because one can learn a lot by talking to each other.

Reminiscing an old incident, Romi Bhinder said that Vaibhav, when you got the orange cap for the first time, you had gone to Hanuman temple and said that you will not think about the orange cap, otherwise you will get glared. On this, Vaibhav smiled and said that whenever I used to see an orange cap on the head of a player in IPL, I used to think of touching it once. I am wearing it today myself and it feels great. I didn’t think about it during the entire tournament because I think thinking too much is a distraction.

Are you satisfied with your performance in IPL 2026? Referring to the conversation with Sunil Gavaskar, Vaibhav Suryavanshi said that many people had asked me whether I wanted to play red-ball cricket in the future or not. I had also answered the same question to Sunil Gavaskar Sir that I like playing red ball cricket. He said that I am also practicing continuously for red-ball cricket. I have also played a lot of red-ball matches for my state. In red-ball and ODI cricket, I will adapt my game to the type of batting required by the team. Vaibhav further said that my dream is to play all three formats for India. The rest is left to God.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi said that when I was bid in the IPL auction, the question that came to my mind was why only two teams bid on me. I felt that I play well and my performance in the trials was also good, so other teams should also have shown interest in me.

However, he expressed his gratitude towards Rajasthan Royals and said that after being a part of Rajasthan Royals for the last one and a half years, I have thanked God at least a thousand times for bringing me to this team. Vaibhav further said that everyone here, from the support staff to the trainers, is very supportive. The entire team is like a family. Senior players constantly guide me and I have got to learn a lot from them.

It is very important to keep the mind strong while playing

Regarding pre-match preparation and visualization, Vaibhav Suryavanshi said that before every match, I think about how I have to bat against which bowler.
If any special situation arises in the match, I also imagine in advance what I will do in that situation. This helps a lot and gives mental strength.
When you know in advance what to do in different situations, confidence increases. Therefore it is very important to keep the mind strong.

Can’t express the support of fans in words

On the support of the fans, Vaibhav said that I cannot express in words the way the fans support me. While playing on the field and also on social media, I have received a lot of love and support from people. This is very special for me.

Vaibhav said that when I land at Patna airport, I feel as if I have come home. There is a different kind of security and peace in the mind. When I am in Bihar, I feel like going out on foot and roaming around anytime. The affinity of the people here is different. Even if you talk to a stranger, it seems as if you have known him for years. People talk with utmost respect and are always ready to help. This is what makes Bihar special for me.

I will drive the car only after getting the license

On getting the car in IPL, he said that I will keep it with me for 3 years. I will drive only after getting the license. Till then I will ask Papa to drive and sit next to me.

Vaibhav can become the youngest Indian to debut
