Vaishakh Month 2026: Keep these things in mind while performing Tulsi puja in Vaishakh, do not do these things even by mistake

The month of Vaishakh has started from 3rd April. This month is known as Madhava month in Hindu religion. This month is considered very special in terms of spiritual progress, worship and charity. According to religious beliefs, bathing, charity and tarpan done in Vaishakh gives eternal results to the seeker.

In this month, people are seen bathing in holy rivers and doing charity to earn virtue. If Tulsi ji is served properly in this month, then virtue is attained. However, during this time it is important to keep some rules in mind.

How to worship Tulsi in Vaishakh?

• It is important to take special care of Tulsi ji in the month of Vaishakh. This keeps the plant green and brings happiness in life.
• Every morning after waking up and taking bath, offer water to Tulsi ji and at this time chant Om Namo Bhagwate Vasudevaya mantra.
• At the time of puja, you should circumambulate the Tulsi tree three or seven times and pray for happiness and prosperity.
• Light a pure ghee lamp near the Tulsi plant in the evening. With this, all the negative energy of life will be destroyed and happiness and peace will be attained.
• In the month of Vaishakh, a small pitcher i.e. Galantika should be tied over the Tulsi plant so that water keeps falling drop by drop.

Don’t make these mistakes

• Often during puja, we commit some mistakes knowingly or unknowingly, due to which blame is placed instead of virtue. It is important to keep some things in mind while worshiping Tulsi.
• Water is not offered to Tulsi on Ekadashi and Sunday. According to religious beliefs, during these days Mata Tulsi observes Nirjala fast of Lord Vishnu.
• Basil leaves should not be plucked or touched on Ekadashi, Sunday and after sunset.
• Never touch Tulsi without taking bath or with bare hands, this affects the happiness and prosperity of the house.
• There should never be any garbage or dirt around the basil pot.

One should not keep a stand of shoes and slippers near the Tulsi plant nor should one take off the shoes and slippers. Never keep a broom or dustbin near Tulsi. Cactus or thorny plants are also not kept near Tulsi. Never allow torn clothes or unnecessary items to accumulate here.
