Ever since the green flag was shown by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 17, there was tremendous enthusiasm among the passengers about this train, which has resulted in record breaking bookings.

Tickets sold in 24 hours

According to agency reports, as soon as the booking window for this new service opened at 8:00 am on January 19, there was a rush of passengers. Within just 24 hours, tickets for all categories of 1AC, 2AC and 3AC were completely sold out. This train will leave on its first regular journey from Kamakhya on 22 January and from Howrah on 23 January.

New era of connectivity for North East India

The running of this train on Kamakhya-Howrah route will give new impetus to trade and tourism between Assam and West Bengal. This train will complete the journey in much less time than other superfast trains. State-of-the-art security features, vacuum toilets and luxurious interiors make it a ‘hotel on tracks’.

Many conveniences and state-of-the-art features

Vande Bharat Sleeper is not only fast, but it also provides world-class amenities to the passengers. Better cushioning has been provided in the seats and berths so that there is no disturbance in sleep. On the lines of planes, bio-vacuum toilets and modern wash basins have been installed in it.

This train is equipped with ‘KAVACH’ anti-collision technology, which reduces the possibility of accidents to zero. Insulation has been used in the train coaches to reduce noise, due to which the journey remains very quiet.
