Vande Bharat Express train from New Delhi to Mata Vaishno Devi Katra cancelled, this is the reason

A large number of devotees reach Katra for the darshan of Mata Vaishno Devi through road, rail and air transport. A state-of-the-art Vande Bharat Express of Indian Railways also runs to reach the shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi. Because Indian Railways has canceled this train for more than one and a half months. Let us tell you that on New Year, there was a rush of devotees in the court of Mata Vaishno Devi.

According to Northern Railway, the train has been canceled due to yard remodeling of Jammu Tawi Yard. Vande Bharat train will not run between New Delhi and Katra from today i.e. Thursday, 16 January to 6 March 2025. Northern Railway runs and maintains this semi-high speed train between the two cities. This train is a major source of passengers going to Vaishno Devi.

How often does this Vande Bharat run?

Semi high speed train runs on all days of the week except Wednesday. This train departs from New Delhi at 6 am and reaches Katra at 2:05 pm. In return, this train departs from Katra at 2:55 pm and reaches the national capital at 11 pm.

Why was the train cancelled?

New Delhi-The decision to cancel Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Vande Bharat Express has been taken due to the re-development project of Jammu station. Non-interlocking work is being done here in Jammu Yard. Let us tell you that at present two Vande Bharat trains run between Delhi and Katra. The first is Train No. 22439/22440 (New Delhi to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Karta-New Delhi) and the second is Train No. 22477/22478 (Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra to New Delhi).

Only these trains were canceled

Please note that train number 22439/22440 i.e. from New Delhi to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra-New Delhi has been canceled for 50 days. Pre-non interlocking and non-interlocking work is being done at Jammu yard. This work is very important for the redevelopment work of Jammu Stan, due to which the decision to cancel the train has been taken. Canceling the train will help in completing this project easily. During this time, the travelers coming to Jammu for darshan of Mata Vaishno Devi are requested to choose some other option.

Train stops at these stations

New Delhi-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Vande Bharat Express, during its journey from New Delhi to Katra, stops at Ambala Cantt, Ludhiana Junction, Pathankot Cantt and Jammu Tawi. Vande Bharat train has the facility of AC chair car and executive chair car. In this, the fare for AC chair car is Rs 1665, whereas for executive chair you have to pay Rs 3055.
