Vande Bharat or Amrit Bharat train of Siwan-Chhapra residents will run for Delhi and Kolkata.

News India Live, Digital Desk: Travel is now going to become even easier and more luxurious for lakhs of passengers of Saran division (Siwan and Chhapra) of Bihar. According to Railway Board sources, in view of the increasing passenger numbers and demand for high-speed trains, there are preparations to start new premium trains on this route. If this plan comes to fruition, then the journey from Chhapra and Siwan to Delhi or Kolkata will be completed in just a few hours.

Vande Bharat or Amrit Bharat: What is the difference?

Railways is considering two types of options so that every category of passengers can get convenience:

Vande Bharat Express: It will be a fully air-conditioned (AC) and high-speed train, which will cater to business class and premium passengers reaching Delhi and Kolkata in less time.

Amrit Bharat Train: It is a high-speed train with ‘push-pull’ technology and consists of sleeper and general coaches. This will prove to be a boon for those common passengers who want to travel fast at low fares.

Proposed Route & Benefits

Connectivity: This train can go to Delhi via Gorakhpur-Lucknow via Siwan-Chhapra, or to Kolkata via Patna-Asansol.

Time Saving: At present Vande Bharat operates at least as compared to Rajdhani or other superfast trains. 3 to 4 hours Expected to be saved.

Economic Development: Better connectivity will make it easier for local businessmen and students to reach big cities.

When will the service start?

Although its official timeline has not been announced yet, but under Budget 2026 and the modernization drive of Railways, trial runs can be seen on these routes by the end of this year. Local public representatives have also written several letters to the Railway Ministry regarding this demand.
