Japanese Tourists Viral Video: A viral video that surfaced from Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh has sparked debate on social media. In this video, some local people are seen allegedly misbehaving with tourists coming from Japan. The incident is said to have taken place on December 25, when some Japanese tourists were preparing to take a bath in the Ganges river.
It can be seen in the video that the tourists are wearing Santa caps and one of them is wearing red colored swimwear. Meanwhile, some devotees reach there and start arguing with the tourists, accusing them of urinating in the Ganga.

In the viral clip, a man tells the tourists, “Don’t you have any understanding at all? This is our sacred river. So many people are bathing here, fold your hands and apologize.” It is alleged that the local people also asked the tourists to call their tour guide. Seeing the situation worsening, Japanese tourists started feeling uncomfortable and scared.
Finally, in the video, a Japanese tourist is seen apologizing with folded hands on the steps of Dashashwamedh Ghat. After this scene came to light, there was a flood of reactions from people on social media. Many users called it misbehavior with foreign guests, while some said that it is important to maintain decorum at religious places.

The tourists apologized and the matter was resolved peacefully.
After the matter gained momentum, Varanasi Police has given clarification regarding the situation. In a statement issued from the official social media account of DCP Kashi, it was said that some devotees had questioned the Japanese tourists regarding bathing, after which the tourists apologized and the matter was resolved peacefully.
The police also clarified that there was no physical violence in this incident. At the same time, ACP Varanasi Atul Anjan Tripathi said that there was a minor argument between the two parties due to misunderstanding, which was resolved through talks on the spot. He also said that no written complaint has been filed by any party and the police is investigating the entire matter.
