Varanasi Police notice to Neha Singh Rathore for her alleged comment on the Prime Minister, know what the folk singer said

Varanasi, 22 January. Police in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh have issued a notice to folk singer Neha Singh Rathore in a case registered in 2025 for her alleged objectionable comments against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. An official gave this information on Thursday. Lanka police station in-charge Rajkumar Sharma said that a case was registered against Rathore in 2025 for making derogatory remarks about the Prime Minister.

He said, “As part of the process of filing chargesheet in the case, a notice has been issued to him on Wednesday.” Reacting to this, Rathore said in a post on ‘X’ that after being called from Hazratganj police station in Lucknow, policemen from Lanka police station in Varanasi also reached his house. He wrote, “I wish the same amount of effort and speed was being taken to harass me, to get justice for the daughter of Patna. Well, after the call from Hazratganj police station, the police of Lanka police station of Banaras has also come home. They are saving the daughter very well! Shame on you!”

Police said that the notice has been issued as per the legal process related to the case registered in 2025. Lucknow Police is also conducting a separate investigation against Rathore. A complaint was filed against him regarding a social media post related to the Pahalgam terrorist attack. Last year, 26 tourists were killed in this attack in Jammu and Kashmir. According to officials, an FIR in the case was lodged on April 27, after which Rathore challenged it in court and on January 7, obtained interim protection against arrest from the Supreme Court.
