Varun Chakraborty has become the world’s number one bowler in the latest rankings announced by the International Cricket Council. He has moved from fourth place to first place. Indian team is already the number one T20 team in the world (India Team Ranking in T20). Jasprit Bumrah, one of the top bowlers in the world, is not even ranked in the top 10 in the T20 bowling rankings.
Varun Chakraborty becomes number 1
Varun Chakraborty was earlier ranked fourth in the rankings of T20 bowlers. He has jumped three places to reach the first position with 733 ranking points. Chakraborty has so far played both the matches for India in Asia Cup 2025. Against UAE, he took one wicket while giving only four runs in two overs. Against Pakistan, he took one wicket for 24 runs in four overs.

Varun Chakraborty is not only India but the world’s top T20 bowler. Among Indians, second in the list is Ravi Bishnoi, who has slipped two places to eighth position. Akshar Patel has moved up one place to 12th rank. Arshdeep Singh has suffered the consequences of not playing even a single match in the Asia Cup so far. He has dropped out of the top 10 and has reached 14th position. Kuldeep Yadav has gained 16 places to reach 23rd position in the bowlers’ rankings.
