Varun Tej expected to make a comeback in his next film

Entertainment: Among the mid-range heroes of Telugu cinema, Nani is the only actor who has performed consistently well at the box office. While many others are going through tough times, things seem especially tough for Varun Tej, who is currently reeling from a hat-trick of flops.

And what is worrying is that his last two releases reportedly did not even cross the ₹10 crore mark, and are struggling to get a good opening. With his market value under pressure, Varun Tej is now treading cautiously and rethinking his upcoming choices.

She has already signed Korean Kanakaraju, directed by Merlapaka Gandhi and backed by UV Creations. The glimpse of the recently released video has received a positive response, raising a ray of hope for the actor’s comeback.

Interestingly, even before the film hits the screens, Varun Tej is in talks for new projects. Industry buzz is that director Maruthi has approached him with a new commercial entertainer. After some stellar performances in Prabhas starrer ‘The Raja Saab’, Maruti is reportedly keen to return to his forte – light-hearted festive entertainers.

They have also registered the title ‘Happy Pongal’ and are planning the film on the lines of celebratory entertainers like F2: Fun and Frustration, to cash in on the holiday season.

However, Varun Tej is still considering his options and has not yet officially signed the project. His next few decisions are likely to determine the direction of his career, so the coming months will be very important for the young actor.
