Is Vashu Bhagnani’s Pooja Entertainment in huge financial debt? What we know

New Delhi: In the latest development, Big husband small husband director Ali Abbas Zafar has accused Vashu Bhagnani of Pooja Entertainment of non-payment of dues. Ali Abbas Zafar accused Vashu Bhagnani of failing him to pay his fee of Rs 7.30 crore for the Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff starrer.

Apart from Ali Abbas Zafar, Mission Raniganj director Tinu Desai and Ganpat director Vikas Bahl have also accused Vashu Bhagnani of non-payment of dues. The matter has now reached the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) and they have also issued a statement in connection with the issue.

Is Vashu Bhagnani in financial debt?

FWICE in its statement said that there have been certain speculations regarding the non-payment of dues to the technicians, workers, artists and vendors by Vashu Bhagnani. Clarifying the speculations, the film industry worker’s union stated that they have received complaints regarding the same, adding that director Tinu Desai has filed a complaint for non-payment of dues for the film, Mission Raniganj. However, FWICE’s constant follow-ups on the matter did not yield any results.

They also stated that they have received individual complaints from the technical crew and vendors of the film, Ganpatdirected by Vikas Behl and now they have received a complaint from Ali Abbas Zafar for not being paid his fee for Big husband small husband.

The federation also revealed that they have received complaints from the largest association of daily wage workers, FSSAMU, regarding the non-payment of dues. Now, the film body has come to the conclusion that Vashu Bhagnani and his son Jackky Bhagnani owe huge amounts of money to workers, technicians, artists and vendors.

The statement added, “We are trying our best to sort out the above issues and hope that Vashu Bhagnani ji comes forward and clears all the payments which would be in the interest of all those who contribute to making the film as it’s their right to earn what they have worked for.”

Earlier, the production house was accused of non-payment of dues and laying off 80 per cent of their staff.

Previously, reports suggest that Vashu Bhagnani sold off Pooja Entertainment office premises in Mumbai to clear a debt of Rs 250 crore. However, Bhagnani later clarified that the office space continues to belong to them and they have shifted to their old office as it was a “lucky space” for them.

Why Pooja Entertainment is in financial trouble?

As per the reports, Pooja Entertainment’s financial trouble is because of the failure of Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, Bell Bottom, Ganpathand Mission Raniganj. However, as per Vashu Bhagnani flops and hits don’t determine the company’s profit.
