Veteran Malayalam actor Siddique fleds after Kerala Police launches a lookout notice over sexual assault case

Actor Siddique from Kerala reportedly escaped from custody after a lookout notice was issued for him. He has been booked by Kerala Police. The actor has reportedly been absconding after the Kerala High Court in Kochi dismissed his request for anticipatory bail in the sexual abuse case, according to a report by Kerala Kaumudi.

The actor was reportedly absent from both of his Kochi residences and had turned off his cell phones, according to the same story. The actor was the target of a lookout notice issued by the Kerala Police to stop him from leaving the country.

According to a report from OnManorama, Siddique has chosen to appeal the HC’s decision at the Supreme Court because he fears being arrested.

On the other hand, the actor’s arrest has been directed by the Crime Branch to the Kochi police.Based on comments that the complainant’s allegations were made up, the actor attempted to obtain anticipatory bail. But the HC had weighed in sharply on this, turning down his bail request.

Kerala Police arrested Malayalam actor Siddique after a young artist accused him of sexually abusing her. Following the release of the Hema Committee report, which caused a stir inside the Indian film industry, the actress filed the lawsuit.

The complainant claimed that on January 28, 2016, following a movie preview, the actor had attacked her at a posh hotel in Thiruvananthapuram.
