As a producer, Pahlaj Nihalani had made many commercial Hindi films. Pahlaj started his career as a producer with the 1982 film Hathkadi. After this he gave films like Aankhen, Shola Aur Shabnam, Andaz, Paap Ki Duniya, Talaash, Rangeela Raja to the industry.

This movie flopped badly at the box office. Pahlaj Nihalani was also the President of ‘Motion Pictures and TV Program Producers Association’ (AMPTPP) from 1980 to 2009.
