Mumbai: Veteran screenwriter Salim Khan, famed for 1970s blockbusters like Sholay, Deewar and Trishul, has been admitted to Lilavati Hospital here Tuesday morning and is currently in the ICU, reports said.
The 90-year-old writer, father of Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, underwent medical tests after admission for an undisclosed ailment.
Reports said Salman Khan, the eldest son of Salim and Salma Khan, visited his father at the hospital. He did not interact with the media. In a paparazzi video, Salman is seen leaving the hospital amid tight security. Without greeting the shutterbugs stationed there, he went straight to his car.
Salman’s sister Alvira Khan, brother-in-law Aayush Sharma, and Ayaan Agnihotri also arrived to see the ailing Salim Khan.
As of now, the Khan family has not released any formal statement regarding the veteran writer’s condition.
