VHP conference in Prayagraj Mahakumbh from today, JPC meeting on Waqf bill will start at 11 am
New Delhi: VHP conference will be held in Prayagraj Mahakumbh from today i.e. Friday 24th January. This conference will continue for the next four days i.e. till January 27. There will be a meeting of the Central Guidance Board today. 13 Akharas and all four Shankaracharyas have been invited to this special meeting. JPC can submit its report on Waqf Amendment Bill to the Lok Sabha Speaker on 27 or 28 January. After the approval of the Lok Sabha Speaker, the report will be presented in the Lok Sabha in the upcoming budget session.
1. VHP conference in Mahakumbh
The meeting of the Board of Directors of Vishwa Hindu Parishad is going to be held in Prayagraj Mahakumbh from today. At this time, great sages, saints and mahatmas from all over the country are gathered here. In such a situation, the importance of this meeting of VHP has increased a lot on this occasion. Whatever will be discussed in this meeting in these four days, it can definitely have a wide impact on the politics of the country in the coming days. In this regard, VHP sources say that apart from Kashi and Mathura, the Places of Worship (Special Provisions) Act, 1991 can be the main agenda in the meeting with the saints. Apart from this, there are some other issues which can be discussed with the saints. Waqf and Sanatan Board are also to be discussed in the meeting.
2. JPC meeting on Waqf bill
JPC meetings have been called for two consecutive days to finalize the draft of the JPC report on the Waqf Amendment Bill. This JPC meeting will start tomorrow Friday morning at 11 am. Committee meetings have been called on consecutive Fridays and Saturdays (tomorrow and the day after). In the meeting, the bill will be discussed clause by clause and the draft of the report will be finalized. JPC members were given time till 4 pm on January 22 to submit amendments to the bill through mail or physical medium, which has already been passed.
3. President Subianto reached India
Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto arrived in New Delhi on Thursday night on his first visit to India as head of state. Subianto has mainly come to Delhi to attend the 76th Republic Day celebrations as the chief guest. The Indonesian President was welcomed at the airport by Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Pabitra Margherita. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said on Friday that Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has been warmly welcomed in New Delhi on his first state visit to India. He also said that this visit will further strengthen the India-Indonesia comprehensive strategic partnership.
