VHT: Who has the most runs in Vijay Hazare Trophy? Read the list of top-5

The new season of Vijay Hazare Trophy (VHT) is going to start from Wednesday (24 December). This premium List-A tournament of Indian domestic cricket is in the headlines with the return of superstars like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. Kohli-Rohit are going to enter the Vijay Hazare Trophy after a long time. Rohit will play for Mumbai, while Kohli will play for Delhi team.

 

This ODI tournament, held every year, is known as Vijay Hazare Trophy since 2007–08. It started in 1983 as an under-19 tournament, in which zonal teams used to play. In the 2002–03 season, it was converted into a national tournament and named Ranji One Day Cup, which later became Vijay Hazare Trophy, named after former Indian cricketer Vijay Hazare. Know the top-5 list of batsmen who scored the most runs in the history of VHT.

Maharashtra’s Ankit Bawne is the highest run-scorer in VHT. He has scored 4010 runs in 89 innings at an average of 56.47. Ankit Bawne has the best average among the batsmen who have scored more than 3 thousand runs in the tournament. Bawne also holds the record for scoring the most centuries (15) in the tournament.

Dinesh Karthik

Former Team India wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik, playing for Tamil Nadu, scored 3433 runs in 71 innings at an average of 56.27 in VHT. Karthik scored 9 centuries and 19 half-centuries during this period.

       मनीष पांडेय

Manish Pandey of Karnataka is at third position in this list. Manish has scored 3403 runs in 99 innings at an average of 44.77 in VHT. He is at number-1 in terms of hitting most sixes (108) in VHT. He has scored 2 centuries and 25 fifties. He is also the batsman with the second highest number of half-centuries in the tournament after Rajat Paliwal (26).

Priyank Panchal

Former Gujarat opener Priyank Panchal scored 3395 runs in 83 innings at an average of 42.97 in VHT. During this period, he scored 8 centuries and 20 half-centuries. Priyank has now retired from Indian cricket.

Mayank Agarwal

Opener Mayank Agarwal, who is out of the Indian team, has scored 3336 runs in 71 innings at an average of 52.12 in VHT while playing for Karnataka. Mayank holds the record for hitting the most number of fours (392) in the tournament. He is also jointly at third place in terms of scoring centuries.
