The tension of OTP and Password is over, Vi and Meta brought new technology, now login on WhatsApp-Facebook will be even easier.

Vi And Meta Partnership On SMV Technology: With the advent of digital era in India, now emphasis is being given on digital security and user experience and now different works are also being done. In such a situation, Vi i.e. Vodafone Idea in partnership with Meta has launched a new network-based verification technology of Silent Mobile Verification, also known as SMV, in the country. Talking about this technology, its aim is to make the login and registration process on popular social media platforms like WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram more secure and easier than before.

Now there will be no need for OTP and password

With the advent of the new SMV technology, the need for password and OTP based verification has now been eliminated to a great extent. Vi has given information regarding this that users will have to enter only their mobile number. After which the verification will be done directly through the telecom network. In this way Meta’s apps will send a secure verification signal to Vi’s network. After which if the number is successfully verified then the user will be able to login directly without entering OTP or password.

You will get benefits on WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram

This new technology has been brought specifically for WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram. Regarding which the company says that with this, tasks like registration of new users, mobile number verification, login, re-login, account recovery and security check will become many times faster than before because the entire verification happens in the background. In such a situation, users do not need to switch between different apps or wait for OTP to come.

Better protection from phishing and digital fraud

Regarding the new technology, Vi has also claimed that SMV technology will also provide additional protection against cyber threats like phishing attacks and digital identity theft because in this the user does not have to enter OTP or other sensitive information manually, which will reduce or completely eliminate the risk of cyber fraud. Regarding this, experts believe that network-based authentication can become a new standard of digital security in the future, which will be easier and more secure.
