Vijay Hazare Trophy: Vidarbha team reached the final for the first time, defeated Maharashtra by 69 runs, will face title clash with Karnataka.

sports desk: In the semi-final match of Vijay Hazare Trophy organized by BCCI, Vidarbha defeated Maharashtra by 69 runs and made it to the final. Vidarbha team has reached the final for the first time. Vidarbha will face Karnataka in the final. Vidarbha, batting first, scored 380 runs at the loss of 3 wickets. Whereas Maharashtra team could score only 311 runs after losing 7 wickets in 50 overs.

In the match played at Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara, Maharashtra won the toss and decided to bowl first. Vidarbha was invited to bat first. Dhruv Shorya and Yash Rathod broke the morale of Maharashtra by making a partnership of 224 runs for the first wicket itself. During this, Yash Rathore completed his century. Yash Rathod faced 101 balls and scored 114 runs. Which includes 14 fours and 1 six. Whereas Dhruv Shorya played an inning of 114 runs.

Vidarbha captain Karun Nair landed at the third position. Nair played an unbeaten inning of 88 runs on 44 balls. During this period he hit 9 fours and five sixes. Apart from that, Jitesh Sharma played an inning of 51 runs. Vidarbha scored 380 runs losing 3 wickets in 50 overs. For Maharashtra, Mukesh Chaudhary took 2 wickets and Bachhav took 1 wicket.

The Maharashtra team that set out to chase this target did not have a good start. Team captain Ruturaj Gaikwad was out after scoring 7 runs. After that, Arshin Kulkarni and Rahul Tripathi together had taken the score forward a bit when Rahul Tripathi returned to the pavilion with a personal score of 27. After that all the batsmen got starts but they could not convert them into big scores. Arshin stood at one end but at the score of 90, his patience gave way and he was out. Maharashtra scored 311 runs at the loss of 7 wickets in 50 overs.

Vidarbha team reached the final for the first time

Arshin Kulkarni played an inning of 90 runs for Maharashtra. Apart from that, SA Veer scored 30 runs, Bawne 50, Qazi 29, Nikhil Naik scored 49 runs but could not reach the target. For Vidarbha, Darshan Nalkande took 3 wickets and Bhute took 3 wickets. Whereas PR Rekhade took 1 wicket. Vidarbha won this match and succeeded in reaching the final for the first time. Captain Karun Nair's bat spoke volumes this season. He has scored 752 runs so far.
