Video- Suicide attempt in Mecca’s Masjid Al-Haram in Saudi, Chief Imam appealed to the people to respect its sanctity.
New Delhi. A surprising incident has come to light on Thursday from the Grand Mosque of Saudi Arabia i.e. Masjid Al-Haram Mosque. Here a person tried to commit suicide by jumping from one of the upper floors of the mosque. However, due to the promptness shown by the officials and the security guards deployed in the mosque, the man’s life was saved. Saudi officials have confirmed the case. The Chief Imam of the Grand Mosque has expressed regret over the incident.

A video of this incident has gone viral on social media. In the video, the person is seen jumping from the railing of the mosque. However, a guard standing nearby showed alertness on the spot and stopped the man from falling down. This creates chaos among the people standing nearby. Giving information about the incident, the official account of the Emirates said that as soon as the man tried to jump, the guards caught him. The security officer was also injured in this attempt. The leg of the person who fell there was fractured. Haram security forces have said that both the man and the injured officer were immediately taken to the hospital, where they are undergoing treatment.

Chief Imam expressed regret
Khaleej Times has told in one of its reports that Chief Imam Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais of Grand Mosque Khaleej Times later expressed regret over this incident. The Chief Imam has appealed to the pilgrims to respect the sanctity of the holy place and follow the rules. While referring to the Quran, the Imam emphasized that protection of lives is a main objective of Islamic law and it should not be wasted in this manner.
