New Delhi. Bondi Beach, located in Sydney City, Australia, was plunged into panic on Sunday evening when news of several rounds of bullets suddenly came to light on the beach. According to the report, at least 10 people have died in this mass shooting. After the incident, there was chaos in the entire area and hundreds of people were seen running from the beach to save their lives. The incident occurred on the occasion of the Jewish festival of Hanukkah (Chanukkah), where around 2000 people were present.

According to Reuters report, the New South Wales Ambulance Service received information that several people had been shot at Bondi Beach at around 6:45 pm local time. Ambulance officials said that many of the injured were treated on the spot, after which they were admitted to nearby hospitals. The New York Times has also confirmed the injured quoting state ambulance officials.

New South Wales Police said on this incident that information is yet to be revealed. According to the police, two people have been detained from Bondi Beach and an intensive security operation is currently underway in the entire area. Police have appealed to the general public to stay away from Bondi Beach and surrounding areas. People who are present at the spot have been asked to take shelter in safe places.
According to local media reports, several gunshots were heard one after the other on Bondi Beach. The Sydney Morning Herald reported that several police vehicles arrived around Campbell Parade and some people were seen lying on the ground. According to other reports, local residents reported hearing gunshots and seeing hundreds of people running from the beach. The office of Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has also reacted to the incident. A Prime Minister’s Office spokesperson said the government is aware of the active security situation at Bondi Beach and urged everyone to follow the guidance issued by New South Wales Police. At present the police operation is going on and officials are trying to find out the reason behind the firing.
