Babar Azam, who was flopping in the field, showed his cooking skills, video is going viral.

The last few months have been no less than a nightmare for Pakistan’s star batsman Babar Azam. His bat is not working on the field and controversies outside the field are not leaving him, but in the meantime, on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, he has come into the headlines for a different reason. At present, this new video of Babar is making a lot of noise on social media.

Actually, Babar has surprised the fans by leaving the bat and picking up the cooking spoon. She shared a video of herself making traditional festival dishes at home. In the clip, 31-year-old Babar was seen preparing vermicelli and sheer khurma with great care. He described it as his “special Eid sweet” and gave fans a glimpse of his life off the field.

Apart from this video, Babar remained in limelight for another reason. According to reports, Babar and opener Fakhar Zaman played despite injuries during the tournament, raising questions over the selection and fitness protocols of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). Senior selector Aaqib Javed first expressed concern over this matter during a media conference last week, when he requested the PCB to investigate the matter.

Speaking with selection committee members Misbah-ul-Haq, Sarfaraz Ahmed and Asad Shafiq, Javed revealed that both Babar and Fakhar were struggling with injuries, which the selectors came to know about only after the tournament was over. This issue was further highlighted by Dr. Javed Mughal, a UK-based sports physiotherapy and medicine expert. Dr. Mughal had joined the PCB’s medical panel in January as director of sports exercise and medicine. After the World Cup, Dr. Mughal examined both the players and expressed concern about their fitness.
