Dak Lak Province in Vietnam’s Central Highlands will hold a durian festival from Aug. 15 to Sept. 2, marking the first held on a provincial scale.
The event aims to promote the Dak Lak durian brand, foster sustainable development of the industry, and showcase the province’s culture and tourism potential.
Organizers expect the 2026 Dak Lak Durian Festival to attract around 300,000 visitors.
The opening ceremony will take place on Aug. 15 at March 10 Square in Buon Ma Thuot Ward.
Major activities include a parade of around 500 pickup trucks promoting durian, an exhibition with some 400 booths, an online durian and OCOP market, and a forum on building a sustainable durian ecosystem.
Visitors can also enjoy durian-themed culinary events, including an attempt to set a record with 102 durian-based dishes, orchard tours and tastings, art exhibitions, sports events, auctions and cultural performances.
The festival will conclude with a special art program at Phu Yen Square in Tuy Hoa Ward.
