Vietnam national football team’s vice-captain gifts parents $60,000 Ford car

Anh’s mother posted a photo of the family receiving a new car on Facebook earlier this week. The car that the footballer chose for his parents is a white Ford Everest Titanium 4×4.

Anh, 25, born in the northern province of Thai Binh, has been taking care of his parents for years.

At 20, he bought an apartment in Hanoi for them to move in with him.

He initially told them that the new flat cost him VND1 billion but they later found out that it was worth more than VND2 billion. Anh had to borrow money from his friends and pay in installments to get the place.

Anh is currently the top center-back of Vietnamese football. Besides his footballing skills, he is also loved by many people for his charismatic appearance and affection for his family.

He rose to prominence in 2020 as a youngster when he played in the V. League for Hanoi FC, replacing key players Do Duy Manh and Tran Dinh Trong who were injured. With an impressive performance, he was voted the best young player of that season.

In 2022, Anh and the U23 Vietnam won the SEA Games gold medal. In the same year, he debuted for the national team in a 3-1 victory over China in the third qualifying round of the 2022 World Cup. Since then, he has played 19 games, scoring one goal for the national team.

He left Hanoi FC last year to join Cong An Ha Noi for a three-year contract, receiving a signing bonus of VND16.5 billion.

The defender is currently among the highest-paid players in the V. League, receiving more than VND100 million a month. He also has advertisement and promotion deals with many brands, besides running a billiards club in Hanoi.
