Vietnam: How 15 Indians who went to visit Vietnam died, the whole story is scary; Embassy released the list

Vietnam: Fifteen tourists died after a boat capsized near Phu Quoc Island in Vietnam. The boat was carrying 32 tourists and four crew members from Rat Ngoi in Hoan to An Thoi port. Vietnamese news portal VN Express International reported that the boat sank 400 meters away from Rat Ngoi in Hoan, causing all the people on board to fall into the sea.

Engaged in tourist rescue operation

Seeing the boat capsizing, nearby tourists ran to the spot and started evacuating people. A boat owner involved in the rescue operation said his boat reached the spot in about five minutes, but rescue was difficult as many passengers were trapped inside the overturned boat. “Only a few people could be revived,” the boat owner was quoted as saying by VN Express.

35 officers and soldiers deployed in rescue operation

The An Thoi Border Guard, along with the Navy, Coast Guard and other emergency personnel, dispatched two boats and 35 officers and soldiers to the scene, joining the rescue effort. By Saturday afternoon, rescue teams had rescued all 36 people aboard the speedboat. 21 people survived, while 15 others, including two women and 13 men, were confirmed dead.

The Indian Embassy in Hanoi said it has set up control rooms as search and rescue operations continue. “In a tragic incident, a boat carrying several Indian tourists capsized near Phu Quoc Island in Vietnam,” the embassy said on Twitter.
