Vietnam tells airlines to adjust flights amid Middle East conflicts
The situation in the Middle East continues to escalate seriously due to military activities between the U.S.–Israel and Iran.
On Saturday, countries including Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Israel announced the closure or restriction of their airspace to safeguard national security amid the escalating hostilities, according to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam.

Airports such as Dubai, Abu Dhabi (UAE), and Doha International Airport (Qatar) have temporarily suspended operations or limited flight activities due to airspace closures and safety risks to civil aviation.
The situation has caused large-scale disruptions to the global flight network, with many airlines canceling or adjusting schedules, particularly routes to and from the Middle East and Europe-Asia routes transiting the region, which are being severely affected.
To ensure absolute aviation safety, the CAAV has ordered the Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation to develop air traffic control solutions, particularly for flights requiring schedule adjustments due to the conflict, and to provide accurate information to airlines and relevant units to support flight operations.
The Airports Corporation of Vietnam and international airports have been tasked with monitoring the situation and closely coordinating with airlines and ground service units to implement plans to assist passengers affected by schedule changes, cancellations, or route adjustments.
Vietnamese airlines do not currently operate direct routes to Iran or other Middle Eastern countries.
Vietnam Airlines operates several flights between Vietnam and Europe. The airline stated that its flights between Vietnam and Europe remain far from areas where hostilities are taking place.
Several international airlines, such as Emirates and Qatar Airways, operate flights from Vietnam to the Middle East or transit passengers through the region.
The CAAV said that one Emirates aircraft and two Qatar Airways flights are currently waiting at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi and have not yet been able to depart for the Middle East.
