Vietnam wins MrBeast’s Minecraft challenge with perfect score

In a video uploaded to MrBeast’s gaming channel on Jan. 17, teams from nine countries – Argentina, Colombia, India, the Netherlands, Poland, Turkey, the U.K. and the U.S. – competed to build the most impressive representation of their homeland.

Amidst this formidable lineup, the Vietnam team, led by YouTuber Neji, stole the show with a project that transcended mere construction to create a living, breathing digital world.

Instead of a spreading, disconnected approach, the 18-member Vietnam team focused on a “miniature Vietnam” inspired by the Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex in Ninh Binh Province in the country’s north. The map featured meticulously recreated landmarks such as the Bai Dinh Pagoda, Mua Cave and Ngoa Long Mountain.

The judges were particularly impressed as the map actually got “soul,” achieved through the use of atmospheric lighting, custom East Asian-style lanterns and interactive NPCs that moved through the village, transforming a static build into an immersive open-world experience.

MrBeast awarded the map a perfect 10/10, propelling Vietnam to a total score of 38.5, the highest in the competition. They narrowly edged out strong contenders Colombia and Turkey, who tied for second place with 37.5 points.

At the end of the video, MrBeast officially confirmed Vietnam as the champion and announced that a trophy would be sent to the team.

The victory is a significant milestone for the Vietnamese gaming community, proving that platforms like Minecraft can be powerful tools for cultural storytelling.

The video, titled “We Build Vietnam in Minecraft” for local audiences, has already garnered millions of views globally, spreading images of Vietnamese heritage to an international audience.

As of 2026, MrBeast, real name Jimmy Donaldson, remains the undisputed king of YouTube, holding the title of the most-subscribed individual creator on the platform with over 460 million subscribers.
