Vietnamese startup VinCSS honored as global innovation leader in IoT security
This accolade marks the third consecutive year VinCSS has been recognized by the esteemed market research and consulting firm.
IoT devices play a crucial role in both personal and organizational contexts, with billions deployed worldwide. However, these devices often present significant vulnerabilities, serving as entry points for cyberattacks that can compromise sensitive data and facilitate large-scale breaches. Addressing these challenges, VinCSS has consistently invested in research and development to advance IoT security solutions since its inception.
Frost & Sullivan highlighted VinCSS‘s innovative application of FIDO Device Onboard (FDO) technology as a key factor in the company’s recognition. Introduced by the FIDO Alliance in 2021, FDO is a standard designed to simplify, secure, and automate the deployment and onboarding of IoT devices. VinCSS has integrated this standard into its comprehensive suite of solutions, effectively tackling critical IoT security issues.

In 2022, VinCSS collaborated with Pavana, a Vietnamese camera manufacturer, to create and commercialize the world’s first FDO-enabled camera. This scalable camera is resilient against most IoT attacks. The following year, the startup developed a smart car park sensor solution utilizing FDO and Bluetooth Mesh technology, optimizing parking management and significantly enhancing security while reducing deployment time and costs.
By 2024, VinCSS launched the world’s first FDO Wi-Fi routers and an FDO network deployment solution, fully automating the setup and installation of networking devices. These innovations have reduced deployment time and costs by up to tenfold while ensuring robust security measures.
VinCSS’s relentless pursuit of innovation has made it the first company globally to hold an FDO certificate, and the only firm to possess three FDO certificates to date.
Anh Tien Vu, a global cybersecurity researcher at Frost & Sullivan, praised VinCSS’s unique implementation of FDO standards, saying: “IoT security is a vast field with many players. VinCSS stands out for its distinctive approach to leveraging FDO standards.”
Frost & Sullivan further commended VinCSS for its proactive adoption of FDO technology in real-world applications, setting new benchmarks for IoT security. The firm noted that VinCSS enables organizations, OEM manufacturers, and service providers to adopt FDO standards without the need to build their own infrastructure from the ground up.
