Vietnam’s Biggest EV Brand Is Launching Electric MPV In India: Price Cna Start Rs 18 Lakh
Like a new player setting pieces on a crowded chessboard, Vinfast is plotting its next electric move in India.
A Fleet-First Strategy Takes Shape
Vietnamese electric carmaker Vinfast is preparing to launch the Limo Green MPV in India in February 2026, marking its third offering after the VF6 and VF7 electric SUVs. Confirming the timeline, Vinfast Asia CEO Pham Sanh Chau told Autocar Professional, “The next car that we are going to launch will be around February. It will be the 7-seater Limo Green.”
The Limo Green will enter India’s expanding electric MPV segment, competing with models like the Kia Carens Clavis EV and BYD eMax 7. However, its debut is closely tied to a larger strategy — the rollout of Vinfast’s electric ride-hailing venture, Green and Smart Mobility (GSM).
Chau stated, “We are going to launch GSM, which is an electric taxi fleet and operations, in India next year. They will be using only Vinfast vehicles,” signalling that a significant share of the Limo Green’s volumes could come from this captive fleet demand.
Owned by Vingroup chairman Pham Nhat Vuong, GSM already operates in Vietnam, Indonesia, the Philippines and Laos, with India set to become its fifth market. Unlike rivals such as Uber, Ola and Rapido, GSM owns its entire fleet of electric cars and two-wheelers, operating both app-based and conventional cab services. This vertically integrated model could help Vinfast rapidly scale volumes in India. As with its other models, the Limo Green is expected to be locally produced at the company’s Tamil Nadu plant. Vinfast also plans to introduce a new model in India every six months.
Specs, Size and What It Offers
The Limo Green has been spotted testing in India, and its design was patented earlier this year. The Vietnam-spec version measures 4,740mm in length, 1,872mm in width and 1,728mm in height, with a 2,840mm wheelbase. By comparison, the BYD eMax 7 is 30mm shorter and 62mm narrower.
Powering the MPV is a 60.13kWh battery pack offering a claimed NEDC range of 450km. The front-axle-mounted motor produces 201hp and 280Nm of torque. Charging options include 11kW AC and 80kW DC fast charging, with the latter enabling a 10 to 70 percent charge in 30 minutes.
Stylistically, the Limo Green retains a conventional MPV silhouette with Vinfast’s signature V-shaped design cues and clean, slab-sided panels. Inside, it adopts a minimal layout with a 2+3+2 seating configuration. Key features include a 10.1-inch touchscreen, four speakers, single-zone air-conditioning and USB charging ports. Safety equipment comprises four airbags, ABS and an electronic parking brake, though ADAS is not offered.
If strategy is the engine and scale the destination, the Limo Green may be Vinfast’s bridge into India’s electric future.
Summary
Vinfast will launch the 7-seater Limo Green electric MPV in India in February 2026, alongside introducing its GSM electric taxi service. Powered by a 60.13kWh battery with 450km claimed range, the MPV is expected to be locally produced in Tamil Nadu. Fleet demand from GSM could help Vinfast rapidly scale operations in India.
