The Italy-flagged AIDA Stella cruise ship carrying more than 2,000 foreign tourists docked at Duong Dong Port in Phu Quoc, Vietnam’s largest island, on Wednesday.
The visitors explored popular attractions such as Safari Phu Quoc, Grand World Phu Quoc, and Kiss Bridge, and enjoyed local cuisine.
The ship is scheduled to leave the port on Wednesday afternoon to continue its journey to Cambodia.
This marked the final international cruise ship docking at Phu Quoc for 2024.
According to the Kien Giang Department of Tourism, Phu Quoc welcomed over 5.9 million visitors this year, including 962,000 international tourists, a 73.4% increase year-on-year.
Industry experts attribute the rise in foreign arrivals to extensive media coverage and the numerous international accolades the island has received.
AIDA Stella is capable of accommodating 2,194 passengers in 1,097 cabins. It features 722 suites and outside cabins with balconies.
