Vigilance’s big action, 14 cases of taking bribe in February, 18 people arrested red handed
Punjab Vigilance Bureau: Punjab Vigilance Bureau, during its ongoing drive against corruption in the state, succeeded in arresting 17 government officials and one private person red-handed while taking bribe in 14 different trap cases in the month of February.
Challan related to 26 vigilance cases
State Vigilance Bureau spokesperson said that during this period, the Vigilance Bureau has made every possible effort to eliminate corruption among government employees and in every sector. The spokesperson said that the Bureau presented challans related to 26 vigilance cases in various competent courts last month.

Apart from this, 3 vigilance investigations have also been registered for thorough investigation of corruption cases. The spokesperson further said that 9 criminal cases were also registered against 35 accused, including 11 government employees.
Fines of Rs 10 to 50 thousand are ready
Sharing details, the spokesperson said that various competent courts adjudicated 4 bribery cases filed and fought by the Bureau during the last month, in which four persons were convicted and sentenced to imprisonment ranging from three and a half years to four years and fine ranging from Rs 10,000 to Rs 50,000.
