Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025: Record rain in Vijay Hazare Trophy, Vaibhav broke the record in one hour, Ghani scored 32 and Kishan scored a century in 33 balls.

New Delhi. The first day of Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025, 24th December, will remain memorable for a long time in the history of Indian domestic cricket. On the first day, three records were broken one after the other within a few hours. These innings from the bats of Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Saqibul Ghani and Ishan Kishan in a single day have made Vijay Hazare Trophy an arena of records. Saqibul is the captain of Bihar team, while Vaibhav is the opener of Bihar. Ishaan plays from Jharkhand, but his family lives in Bihar.

After Vaibhav, Arunachal Pradesh bowlers fly in Ghani’s storm

Earlier, 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi had become the second Indian to score the fastest century in Vijay Hazare Trophy and List-A by scoring a century in 36 balls against Arunachal Pradesh, but his record could not last even for an hour. Bihar captain Saqibul Ghani batted even faster in the same match and scored a century in just 32 balls and became the fastest century scored by an Indian in List-A cricket.

Ghani hit 10 fours and 12 sixes

In this match against Arunachal Pradesh, Bihar, batting first, created such a storm that it became impossible for the opposition bowlers to stop. Bihar scored 574 runs for six wickets in 50 overs, which is the highest score in List-A cricket so far. The foundation of this historic innings was laid by Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who scored 190 runs in 84 balls. His innings included 16 fours and 15 sixes. Along with him, Ayush Lohuruka scored 116 runs in 56 balls, while Piyush Singh contributed 77 runs.

However, the biggest attraction of the match was captain Saqibul Ghani, who scored unbeaten 128 runs in just 40 balls and broke Vaibhav’s record by completing a century in 32 balls. Ghani hit 10 fours and 12 sixes in his innings. 574 runs became the highest ever team score in List-A cricket. Earlier, the highest score in List-A cricket was in the name of Tamil Nadu. He had scored 506 runs for two wickets against Arunachal in 2022 itself.

Ishaan Kishan’s magic

Meanwhile, in another match of Vijay Hazare Trophy, the match played between Jharkhand and Karnataka also got registered in the record book. Jharkhand captain Ishan Kishan batted explosively against Karnataka and scored a century in just 33 balls. This innings of Ishaan became one of the fastest innings ever in Indian domestic cricket. He scored 125 runs in 39 balls, which included 14 sixes and seven fours. On the basis of his explosive batting, Jharkhand scored 412 runs for nine wickets in 50 overs. Ishan scored the second fastest century by an Indian in List-A cricket.
