Vijay achieves magic figure of majority in Tamil Nadu, will take oath as CM tomorrow at 11 am

The 2026 assembly elections have brought a historic turn in the politics of Tamil Nadu. Actor-turned-politician Vijay’s party TVK has performed in the election field in a way that completely changed the traditional politics of the state. According to election trends and data, TVK has crossed the figure of 118 with the support of allies and now preparations for government formation have intensified. Vijay once again reached Lok Bhavan and staked claim to the Governor to form the government.

Will take oath on May 9 at 11 am

After a long struggle and struggle, Vijay finally achieved the magical figure of majority. Along with the left parties, he also took the support of other parties. It is being told that he has handed over the complete list of supporting signatures of 121 MLAs to the Governor. Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar invited him to form the government. Now on Saturday i.e. 9th May, Vijay will take oath as the next Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.

Contested elections for the first time, but directly to power

Politics in Tamil Nadu has revolved around DMK and AIADMK for a long time, but this time the public indicated a change. Vijay’s party gained tremendous traction among the youth, first-time voters and the urban class. During the election campaign, Vijay raised issues like employment, corruption, education and regional pride prominently.

Political analysts believe that TVK’s success is not just because of stardom but is also a result of the demand for anti-incumbency and new politics.

Got support from left parties and VCK

After coming close to the majority required to form the government, TVK got the support of left parties and VCK. After this the party’s figure crossed 118. With this, political turmoil intensified from Chennai to Delhi.

According to sources, several rounds of talks were held regarding support, in which consensus was reached on social justice, regional rights and welfare schemes. TVK assured its allies that coalition dharma will be followed if the government is formed.

Vijay gave the message of change

After the election results, Vijay addressed the supporters and said that this victory is not just of one party but of the people of Tamil Nadu. He said that the public has rejected the politics of fear and despair and has chosen development and transparency.

Vijay especially thanked the youth and women in his speech. He said that employment, industry and education reforms will be the priority of the government in the coming days.

Big blow to DMK and AIADMK

DMK and AIADMK suffered the biggest loss in this election. The traditional vote bank of both the parties was seen slipping in many areas. TVK made a big inroad especially among urban areas and young voters.
Political experts say that Vijay has established himself not just as a film star but as a serious political option. This was the reason why the public gave him widespread support.

Preparation for the post of Chief Minister begins

Now the biggest question is whether Vijay will become the next Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu? Party sources say that a meeting of the legislature party can be called soon, in which the leader will be formally elected. If everything goes according to the planned strategy, Vijay can soon be seen taking oath as the Chief Minister.
