Jana Nayagan Uncut Release in UK: While Vijay Thalapathy’s last film Jana Nayakan had to undergo several changes mandated by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) for its release in India, audiences in the United Kingdom will be able to watch the film in its original form.

Britain’s Ahimsa Entertainment has confirmed that Vijay’s much-awaited action drama film will be released in British theaters without any cuts on July 24. The British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) has given the film a 15 rating, which means that audiences aged 15 and above can watch it without any edits.

When will the film be released in Britain?

Jana Nayakan will be released in UK cinemas on Thursday, July 24, 2026. Advance booking is expected to begin in the coming days through major cinema chains and regional exhibitors. The announcement has excited overseas fans, especially as the UK version will not include the edits mandated for its Indian theatrical release.

Why is the UK version different from India?

In India, the CBFC gave Jana Nayakan an ‘A’ (adults only) certificate, and asked the filmmakers to make 12 modifications before release. These modifications included muting or changing several dialogues, removing scenes related to the Indian national flag, Dr. B.R. This included modifying references to Ambedkar, removing the child burning scene, changing references to political terms, religious expressions and objectionable language, and replacing the name “Sheila Rani” wherever it appears. At the same time, the film released in the UK will show only the original version approved by the BBFC, which will not include the specific edits made by the CBFC.
