Vijaya Ekadashi 2026: Know the exact date, auspicious time and easy method of worship at home.

In the Hindu calendar, the day of Ekadashi is considered very sacred, but Vijaya Ekadashi has a special place. It is believed that the fast observed on this day removes the problems of life and opens the way to success. This date dedicated to Lord Vishnu is a symbol of reverence, restraint and devotion. It is said that by observing the fast with a true heart, one receives special blessings from Lord Vishnu.

According to the Panchang, the Ekadashi date of Krishna Paksha of Phalgun month will start from the night of 12 February 2026 and will end on 13 February 2026. Considering Udaya Tithi, this fast will be observed on Friday, 13 February. Worshiping as per rituals on this day is considered auspicious.

How to worship Vijaya Ekadashi at home?

If you want to perform puja at home, then wake up early in the morning, take bath and wear clean, light colored clothes. Clean the puja place and spread a yellow cloth on a platform. Install the idol or picture of Lord Vishnu on it. Start the puja by taking water in your hand and taking a pledge to fast. After this, bathe the Lord with Ganga water and Panchamrit. Offer yellow flowers, fruits, incense, lamp and naivedya.

Keep in mind that worship of Lord Vishnu is considered incomplete without Tulsi group, hence Tulsi must be offered. Read or listen to the story of Vijaya Ekadashi during the puja. Finally, light a ghee lamp and perform Aarti and pray to God for the happiness and prosperity of your family.

Pay special attention to these things

It is important to follow some rules on the day of Vijaya Ekadashi. Making and eating rice is considered prohibited on this day. There is a religious belief that rice should not be consumed on Ekadashi. Apart from this, basil leaves should not be plucked on this day. Pluck basil leaves and keep them a day before the puja. During the fast, keep your mind calm, do not speak ill of anyone and avoid telling lies. Maintain distance from tamasic foods like meat, alcohol, onion and garlic.

The fast of Vijaya Ekadashi is completed by doing Parana on Dwadashi Tithi. Before Parana, worship Lord Vishnu and do charity as per your capacity. Break the fast only after this. By observing this fast regularly, obstacles in life are removed. Lord Vishnu is pleased and fulfills the wishes of the devotees and blesses them with success.
