Villages of UP will get ‘city like’ facilities, good news for the people!

Lucknow. Uttar Pradesh government is taking a big step in the field of rural development. Fulfilling Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s ‘Antyodaya’ resolution, the state has prepared a comprehensive development plan for Scheduled Caste dominated villages. Under this, 12,492 villages of the state have been selected, where basic and modern facilities will be provided.

Selection Criteria and Priority

The government has set clear standards for the successful implementation of the scheme. Under this, the share of Scheduled Castes in the village population should be at least 40%. The total population of the village should be minimum 500. This process will strengthen social inclusion and make effective distribution of resources possible.

Modern facilities in villages

Under ‘Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojana’, not only road construction but a fully developed rural eco-system is being created. The major features included are digital libraries and availability of online resources. Construction of modern toilets in schools and Anganwadi centres. Solar lights, street lights and new transformers. Piped water to every home, new borewells and motor sheds. Construction of crematoriums and strengthening of assets of village society.

Decentralized development and transparency

Uttar Pradesh Scheduled Castes Finance and Development Corporation has made administrative changes to make Gram Panchayats executive institutions. Now Panchayats will directly monitor development works, which will increase transparency and speed up the pace of work. Also, people in villages will get facilities like cities.
