Vinfast VF MPV7 To Renault Boreal
After compact SUVs, 7-seater SUVs and the MPV segment have been gaining popularity, thanks to brands like Mahindra that offer three-row SUVs at affordable prices. People want big SUVs and cars that can accommodate their growing families. Brands are also listening to these demands and are working on it. Here, we have a list of 7-seater SUVs and MPVs that are launching in the Indian market this year.
VinFast will be launching its third product, the MPV7, in the market by April 15, 2026. The MPV looks different from the existing VinFast models sold in India. It has a boxy, MPV-like design with signature V-shaped LED DRLs, split headlamps, 19-inch wheels, connected LED tail lamps, and an ample number of features like a large touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, an electronic parking brake, disc brakes on all four wheels, and more.
VinFast might also launch a lower-spec variant for the cab market. Both variants are expected to be mechanically the same. The only difference is going to be the features. The MPV is expected to come with a 60.14 kWh battery pack that produces 201 bhp and 280 Nm of peak torque. This setup is expected to deliver a claimed driving range of around 450 km.
MG’s new flagship SUV, Majestor, was revealed to the public in February and is now expected to be launched in April. It is a feature-loaded SUV that offers a strong mix of premium features and off-road capabilities.

The boxy SUV comes with a massive front grille, LED DRLs, vertically stacked LED headlamps, 19-inch alloy wheels, and connected LED tail lamps. Inside, it offers premium leatherette upholstery, seats with memory, ventilation and massage functions, a 12.3-inch infotainment screen and digital instrument cluster, a panoramic sunroof, Level 2 ADAS, and more.
It is powered by a 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine paired with an automatic transmission, generating 215 PS and 478 Nm of peak torque.

The undefeated king of its segment, the Toyota Fortuner, is getting an update soon. Toyota is already testing the next-generation Fortuner, and several digital renders have surfaced online, hinting at its design.
The Fortuner is expected to get a design inspired by the new Hilux. It could feature sleeker headlamps, a larger grille, a redesigned bumper, and new tail lamps. It is also expected to offer more features than the current model while continuing with the 2.7-litre petrol and 2.8-litre mild-hybrid diesel engine options.

Volkswagen launched the all-new Tayron R-Line in the Indian market recently. This is a seven-seater SUV, and apart from the performance variant, Volkswagen is also considering a lower-spec, non R-Line variant of the Tayron.
In terms of design, the upcoming version will be less sporty and would come with a regular bumper and grille. It would get a few cosmetic differences and possibly fewer features. It is expected to be powered by the same 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine but will produce lower power and torque compared to the R-Line variant.

Skoda discontinued diesel engines, but they recently mentioned that they are planning to reintroduce diesel engines in limited numbers in the Superb and Kodiaq. These would be launched as CBUs, which means the Kodiaq diesel will be expensive. It is expected to use a 2.0-litre TDI engine producing around 198 hp and 400 Nm of torque.

Apart from the diesel, Skoda will also bring the performance-oriented RS variant of the Kodiaq to India. It will come with blacked-out exterior elements, an RS-specific bumper, and several other cosmetic differences. The Kodiaq RS will use a 2.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine that generates 263 PS and 370 Nm of torque.

Maruti is at least two years away from launching the next-generation Ertiga in the market. The current-generation Ertiga is popular among buyers from both private and commercial segments. In order to retain customer interest, Maruti might consider offering a facelift for the Ertiga with more features, updated infotainment, and maybe even an underbody CNG tank. It will continue to be powered by the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine with manual and automatic transmission options. The next-generation model of the Ertiga might come with a strong hybrid system.

Mahindra has been working on the Scorpio N facelift for a while. It is expected to be launched this year and would come with a revised grille, bumper, alloy wheels, a larger touchscreen infotainment system from the Thar Roxx, and maybe even Level 2 ADAS on more variants. The SUV will be powered by the same 2.0-litre turbo petrol and 2.2-litre turbo diesel engine options.

Along with the Scorpio N, the Mahindra Scorpio Classic is also expected to get an update this year. The SUV is likely to remain the same as the current version with minor cosmetic changes. It will be offered in limited variants and with a diesel engine option paired with a manual transmission only.

Renault launched the Duster in the market recently, and they also have plans to launch a 7-seater SUV based on the same platform. It is currently being called Boreal internationally, and it is expected to come to our market soon. The Boreal will come with a different exterior design and dimensions than the Duster. It would also offer three-row seating and will be powered by the same 1.3-litre turbo petrol and 1.8-litre strong hybrid engine used in the Duster.
