VInicius Jr Gets Into Fight With Pablo Maffeo: Real Madrid star attacker Vinicius Jr. got into multiple heated exchanges with Mallorca full-back Pablo Maffeo during the Supercopa match between the two sides. Their actions even brought their teammates into the feud.
Los Blancos took on Mallorca in the semi-final of the Supercopa de Espana yesterday. This tournament is being played in Saudi Arabia rather than Spain. This particular match took place in the King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah.
Vinicius Jr Gets Into Fight With Pablo Maffeo
Vini and Maffeo have had a long-standing feud. The two men have been on shaky terms since the 2021-22 season when the defender made some heavy challenges on the star attacker. However, the two had seemingly reconciled following their on-field bust-ups.
But, in a pre-match interview, the feud was reignited when speaking about a hypothetical boxing match between the two, Maffeo claimed that he could knock Vinicius out in “10 seconds.” This statement brought their rivalry back to the forefront.
Within the first 10 minutes of the Real Madrid vs Mallorca clash, the sparks flew. It was the Argentine defender who started all this on the day. On a dead ball, he made contact with the Brazilian to rile him up. This worked, as Vini appeared to have waved his hand towards Maffeo’s chest, who took a theatric fall to the ground looking for a foul for the Madrid star.
This immediately sent the Real players into outrage. The likes of Jude Bellingham and Dani Ceballos confronted the Mallorca defender for his behaviour. They also alerted the officials about the dive. The referee, De Burgos Bengoetxea, gave warnings to both players in order to de-escalate the situation.

When both teams went into the tunnels for halftime, it began again. Vinicius Jr. reportedly called out Pablo Maffeo for his antics. This sparked another confrontation between the two. This prompted Madrid assistant coach Davide Ancelotti to step in and diffuse the situation.
Even after the final whistle, Pablo was seen having an altercation with Raul Assencio. This time, manager Carlo Ancelotti stepped in.
Real Madrid did end up winning the match 3-0, with the Spanish giants scoring twice in injury time of the second half. They will now face heated rivals Barcelona in the final, who beat Athletic Bilbao 2-0 in the other semi-final.
