Had to undergo heart surgery twice

Kambli's health has deteriorated significantly in the last few years. In 2013, he had to undergo heart surgery twice and during this time Sachin Tendulkar helped him financially. Kambli's deteriorating health came to light when he attended a function involving Ramakant Achrekar this month. Sachin Tendulkar came to meet him at this function, but Kambli was finding it difficult to even get up from the chair. A few days ago, Kambli himself had informed that he was suffering from urinary infection. Great cricketers like Kapil Dev and Sunil Gavaskar have also expressed concern about his health.
