Internet banned after violence, arson during Jama Masjid survey in Sambhal
Be careful: Violence broke out in Uttar Pradesh during the survey of Jama Masjid on the morning of Sunday, November 24, in which three people died and more than 15 policemen were injured. During the violence, stones were pelted and firing was done on the police, due to which the atmosphere has become very tense.
Following the violence, security has been beefed up in the area and internet service has been shut down for the next 24 hours. Barricading has been done on all the routes leading to Jama Masjid. Apart from this, additional PAC has been sent to Sambhal from Moradabad. Police have arrested several accused in this case, including three women.
How did the violence happen?
At around 6.30 am on Sunday morning, a survey team had arrived to survey the Shahi Jama Masjid. During the survey, local people started pelting stones at the security forces. During this, the police were attacked and many vehicles were burnt. The miscreants set fire to three cars and eight bikes. Police used tear gas and plastic bullets to control the situation. Despite this, the attackers also opened fire, in which CO Anuj Chaudhary and SP's PRO were shot in the legs, while 15 other policemen were injured. The condition of one of these constables remains critical.

The relatives of the deceased in the Sambhal violence claim that they died due to police firing, while Moradabad Divisional Commissioner Anjaneya Kumar Singh says that no one died in the police firing. He said that the attackers deliberately tried to target the survey team and targeted 12-14 year old children and women. The commissioner identified the deceased as Noman of Sarayatrin, Bilal of Hayatnagar and Naeem of Kot Garvi.
